Music therapy sessions utilize music to support individuals facing cognitive, social, emotional, behavioral, physical, medical, or mental health challenges. In sessions, our clinicians use a variety of live and recorded music, various instruments, rhythmic movement, music technology, and sensory and visual aids to help clients achieve their individualized goals and objectives in an individual or group setting. All music therapy sessions must be facilitated by a board-certified music therapist.
From newborn to legacy care, anyone can benefit from music therapy. We typically work with individuals with developmental disabilities, mental and behavioral health disorders, progressive diseases, and/or medical disorders and injuries.
You can find music therapists in homes, schools, hospitals, nursing homes, adult day centers, prisons, psychiatric facilities, community services (ex. Support groups), and more.
Not at all -- music is for everyone! If you are moved and motivated by music, simply come as you are.
In Connecticut, music therapy services are not currently covered by insurance. Music therapy costs can, however, be paid with a Health Savings Account (HSA). Some individuals have music therapy funded through government services such as, but not limited to, the Department of Developmental Services or the Department of Children and Families.
At Melodic Goals, our music therapy service costs are priced by the time and frequency of services. We offer 30, 45, and 60 minute services at a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly frequency. Prices increase annually and start at $60 per session for one individual. If you are low income, please ask about our rates as we aim to work through any financial hardships to make services possible! At Melodic Goals, we believe everyone deserves to receive the support they need to grow. Please contact us at mellany@melodicgoals.com or 860-500-3444 to book a consultation for more information!
We are located at The Collective Space at 258 Windsor Ave, Suite 5, Windsor, CT 06095. We also travel throughout Hartford County to homes and facilities.
